Are You a Contact Lens Dropout? There is Hope!

Calgary Optometry Centre addresses contact lens issues, questions & news:

There is hope for Contact Lens Drop-outs In the contact lens field, "dropout" refers to that patient who, for whatever reason, has given up on contact lens wear. Our doctors encounter at least one or two patients per day who have previously worn contact lenses but have discontinued wear.

We have identified several major groups of contact lens dropouts:

  • Those experiencing dryness or discomfort
  • Those who have poor contact lens vision due to astigmatism
  • Those with poor close vision due to a need for reading glasses

We find that many contact lens dropouts are still seeking vision improvement. These patients still like contact lenses for overall vision improvement, cosmetic or lifestyle needs and would commit to lens wear if they performed well.
