Concussions: Latest research shows the eyes are the key
Concussion awareness has never been higher. We mostly see professional athletes take a significant hit to the head and then read or hear about their progression to recovery. But the majority of concussions happen to non-professional athletes, still caused by some source of head trauma, and affecting all ages.
Recent concussion testing and research is showing specific eye examination procedures are useful for diagnosing concussion severity and following the recovery cycle. These tests have been done by Optometrists for years in assessing good eye and brain function. If you or someone you know has suffered from a suspected concussion, don't forget to have the eyes examined.
