Correctable Vision Problems

There are various types of correctable vision problems and people can have one or more of these at the same time.

Nearsightedness

When a person can see nearby objects clearer than distant objects. Nearsightedness is usually due to an eye that is too long in relation to the focusing point.

Farsightedness

When a person can see distant objects clearer than nearby objects, but distant objects may not be clear-especially as we age. Farsightedness is usually due to an eye that is too short in relation to the focusing point.

Astigmatism

When a person cannot focus images clearly at any distance due to an irregular curvature of the cornea (front surface of the eye) or natural lens tissue.
