More Than Just Eye Examinations - We Treat Eye Infections and Foreign Body Removal

Many patients do not know that Calgary Optometry Centre Optometrists are able to treat eye infections and remove foreign particles that get inside the eyes.

We have had many patients tell us they discuss eye issues with their family doctor, while many others will go to walk in clinics or emergency rooms for eye related problems. Our Optometrists are often better able to examine and treat various eye related conditions in a timelier manner (eliminating those long waits at the walk in clinic and emergency rooms).

Come see your Calgary Optometry Centre Optometrist if you or any members of your family ever experience any of the following:

• Foreign objects in the eye. Proper removal if necessary.
  
• Possible eye infection or injury. A prescription for eye drop medications can be given if necessary.
  
• Sudden changes in vision.
  
• Appearance of floaters or flashes in your central or peripheral vision.
  
• Been diagnosed with vascular disease such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. as these conditions can affect eye health and vision.
  

Proper follow-up will also be recommended to make sure any condition is completely resolved. If necessary, you will be referred to your general physician or an ophthalmologist.

Most times you do not need a referral and appointments can be booked directly through any of our offices. Often, we can see you the same day. In many cases, your visit may be covered by Alberta Health Care.
